Somali Bantu Community Development Center of Connecticut is 501(c)(3) nonstock corporation organized and incorporated under the Connecticut Revised nonstock corporation act, section 33-1000 et. seq. The SBCDC corporation was founded on December 11th of 2007. The Somali Bantu Community in Connecticut is composed of six board of direcors and four stuff members. The purpose of SBCDC as set forth in the certificate of incorporation, shall be to support Bantu cultural programs, educate about Bantu life in the United States and aid the Bantu community in the greater Hartford area. The SBCDC advances its mission through economic, educational, and social empowerment programs providing ESL classes, job training, Citizenship classess,Driver's education classes, and resources nessessary to help the Bantu community over come poverty and become fuctioning members of the sociaty.
